Breaking the Generational Cycle of Incarceration

Since 1992, New Horizons Ministries has been called to serve children and families impacted by incarceration. Throughout the years, God has faithfully provided for our ministry's needs, from dedicated staff and generous funding to suitable facilities.

A vision has emerged over time: New Horizons needs a permanent home. A campus facility that will serve as a beacon of hope for the next generation.

In 2018, we launched the Legacy Project to make this vision a reality. We established the Haven Foundation to oversee and care for all New Horizons facilities, operating in faith under the Lord's guidance. Committed to debt-free financial stewardship, we continue seeking the right property as we trust in God's timing and provision.

While we've prayerfully considered several properties, we remain confident that when the time is right, the resources will align with His perfect plan for our permanent home.

We invite you to join us on this journey of faith as we trust God to provide our permanent home.

Our debt-free approach requires us to save first and purchase second. We're steadily building our acquisition fund through the faithful giving of partners who share our vision for a permanent home. When God leads us to the right property, we want to be ready with cash in hand, free from borrowing and monthly payments. Your gift today helps us maintain our commitment to financial integrity while preparing for His provision.

How We Could Use the Campus

Summer Camps

During the summer, we have camps for children from around Colorado who have parents in prison. There is a separate camp for boys and girls, ages 8-12. Most of these children are from urban environments and this would allow them to experience camp in a rural, agrarian environment.

Kids Club

During the school year, we support children affected by incarceration at our weekly Kid's Club. A softball field and a gym, could create a great place for activities, regardless of the weather.

Re-Entry Housing

Individualized dorm room facilities would allow for re-entry participants to have their own space, while being exposed to life outside.

Training Facility

Personal growth and development is valued at NHM. Adequately sized conference rooms would be used for new staff orientation, chaplain training, Ascend Discipleship classes, along with Bible Study and Life Skills classes for re-entry participants.

Ascend Youth Program Dorms

Dorm style housing would allow us to significantly expand the number of youth participants in the Ascend Discipleship program and remain compliant with local zoning requirements.

Working Farm

Part of the vision for a campus includes well irrigated cropland that would allow us to have a working farm. Here we could raise grassfed beef, produce, and chickens. This would create jobs for re-integration participants and help them get back on their feet.
